one last question?
You set the fee for each role, between 5 and 30%. You only pay it once the person is hired. No fixed fees, no deposit. If you don't hire, you pay nothing. The Muzzo team helps you choose the right amount.
You have a double guarantee. If your new hire leaves within 3 months, we restart the search at no cost. If we don't find a replacement within 4 months, we refund 50% of the fees. On average, 94% of new hires are still in post after 3 months.
Click “get started” and describe your role in two steps. The Muzzo team gets back to you to clarify the need. Then the headhunters who hire the most for this role get to work. Launching is free, with no exclusivity.

the reality
good accountants are scarce, and already taken
an autonomous accountant never stays on the market for long
They handle their files alone, from bookkeeping to year-end accounts. Firms fight over them: a headhunter knows them and calls before they read an ad.
tax season doesn't move
Between January and May, firms are always one accountant short to deliver year-end accounts on time. The role must be signed before the peak, not during it.
firm, in-house accounting, audit: three jobs
A firm accountant, an in-house general accountant and an audit senior are not found in the same networks. At Muzzo, each role goes to the headhunter who knows that job.

the accounting profiles our headhunters will find for you
Already 32 hires signed for 15 accounting and audit companies. Each role goes to a headhunter who knows that job.
accounting firm associate
They manage a portfolio of client files, from bookkeeping to year-end accounts. We hired an experienced accounting associate for KPMG.
already hired in accounting
chartered accountant and client manager
They sign off accounts, manage associates and advise business owners. Rarely looking: you have to go and find them.
already hired in accounting
auditor and audit senior
They certify accounts and lead the engagement at the client. We hired a junior auditor for KPMG.
already hired in accounting
general accountant and sole accountant
In-house, they keep the full books up to the year-end close. In an SME they are often alone: they must be able to do everything.
already hired in accounting
accounts payable and receivable clerk
One pays invoices on time, the other brings payments in. Two roles that keep cash flowing day to day.

head of accounting
They run the accounting team, the closes and the relationship with the statutory auditor. The link between day-to-day accounting and the finance department.
already hired in accounting
payroll and social security specialist
They manage payroll and social security filings for a client portfolio or a company. A technical job, where a mistake shows immediately.

the method
one headhunter per role, not one firm for everything
We have tracked every headhunter since November 2020, on three criteria: how many hires they make, the quality of their profiles, their speed.
you describe the role
You fill in the form, then we talk it through: the job, the level, the salary. You set the fee, between 5 and 30%.
we choose the headhunters
From more than 2,500 selected headhunters, we keep those who hire the most in your field.
you meet the right profiles
The headhunters approach and check every profile: number of files handled, software mastered, level of autonomy. You receive few CVs, but profiles that match.
you only pay if you hire
Nothing to pay upfront. No fixed fees, no deposit.

accounting recruitment agency: what it changes for you
An accounting recruitment agency finds the accounting associates, in-house accountants, auditors and chartered accountants your firm or finance team needs, then convinces them to join you. The best are already in post and don't read job ads: accounting recruitment is won through direct approach.
Competition between employers is real. According to France's national Order of Chartered Accountants (Ordre des experts-comptables), the profession counts more than 22,000 chartered accountants and more than 186,000 staff in 2024, serving around 3.5 million client organisations. Every firm is after the same autonomous associates, often at the same time of year.

accounting hiring: e-invoicing is changing the profiles you need
According to the French tax authority (impots.gouv.fr), since 1 September 2026 every company must be able to receive electronic invoices, and large and mid-sized companies issue theirs through an approved platform. SMEs, very small businesses and micro-enterprises follow for issuing on 1 September 2027.
For an in-house accounting team, that means setting up data flows, handling rejections and working with a platform. For an accounting firm, it means getting hundreds of clients ready for the switch. Accountants are now expected to master their tools as well as their standards: our headhunters check both before introducing anyone.

accounting firm, audit, in-house team: three different accounting hires
In an accounting firm, you need associates who handle a client portfolio from bookkeeping to year-end accounts, engagement managers, and chartered accountants registered with the Order. Their contracts fall under the national collective agreement for chartered accountancy and statutory audit firms.
In audit, the statutory auditor certifies the accounts. Their regulator has become the High Audit Authority (H2A), which also oversees sustainability auditors: one more skill to check. In-house, the general accountant, accounts payable clerk or head of accounting knows your business from the inside. At Muzzo, each of these roles goes to a headhunter who already hires for it.
how our headhunters recruit an accountant
Your role isn't posted as yet another job ad. It goes to the headhunters who hire the most for that job, chosen from more than 2,500 selected headhunters. They directly approach accountants working in accounting firms, audit firms and in-house finance teams.
Every profile is checked on facts: number of client files handled, autonomy up to year-end accounts, closes delivered, software used, references. You receive few CVs, but accountants who match. A Muzzo hire is signed in 26 days on average, from brief to signature.
hiring in accounting before tax season
In an accounting firm, workload follows the tax calendar: year-end closes on 31 December, then accounts and tax returns in spring. An associate who starts in March won't have time to take over their files before the peak. You end up one person short at the worst moment of the year.
The right time to launch a search is autumn. Allow 26 days on average to signature, then the new hire's notice period: they are settled in before January. In-house, the same logic applies before a year-end close, a software change or the switch to e-invoicing.
after the hire: guarantee and confidentiality
You set the fee for each role, between 5 and 30%, and only pay it when you hire. If your new hire leaves within 3 months, we restart the search at no cost. If no replacement is found within 4 months, we refund 50% of the fees.
Your searches stay confidential: replacing someone in an accounting team, or bringing in a future partner at a firm, can be done without any public ad. Launching is free, with no exclusivity.
your questions about hiring in accounting
On average, a Muzzo hire is signed in 26 days, across all roles, from brief to signature. You then need to allow for the new hire's notice period. For an accounting firm, launch the search before tax season, not during it.
Accounting associates, chartered accountants, auditors and audit seniors, general accountants, accounts payable and receivable clerks, heads of accounting, payroll specialists. Management control and finance leadership have their own pages.
By going out to find them: an associate who handles their own files up to year-end accounts is already in post and rarely on job sites. Our headhunters approach them directly, check their portfolio size and autonomy, then introduce them to you. For example, we hired an experienced accounting associate for KPMG.
In France, a chartered accountant (expert-comptable) is registered with the Order and leads the firm's engagements. An accountant produces the books, under a chartered accountant's responsibility in a firm, or for their employer in-house. The two are not hired the same way.
Yes. Since 1 September 2026, every company must be able to receive electronic invoices, and issuing becomes mandatory for SMEs on 1 September 2027. Accountants who can work with an approved platform and automated flows are in higher demand. Our headhunters check these skills.
