they recruit their tech profiles with muzzo
how to recruit a cybersecurity engineer through a recruitment agency?
A good cybersecurity engineer detects, contains and explains an incident. Muzzo assigns your role, from SOC analyst to senior security engineer, to headhunters who recruit most in this field: they test a real intrusion case. Commission of 5 to 30%, paid on hire. If departure within 3 months: search relaunched for free.
how it works
you only pay if you recruit

01
you describe the role
Using the form above: the role, your company, your perimeter. The rest is scoped at your first chat with the Muzzo team.

02
our data chooses the headhunters
AI selects those who have recruited most in cybersecurity, among over 2,500 selected headhunters.

03
you meet the best profiles
Approached and qualified by cybersecurity experts. You choose who you see.

04
you recruit, then you pay
Not before. If the hire leaves within 3 months, we relaunch the search for free.

last question?
With Muzzo, you set the commission, between 5 and 30%, and you only pay it on hire: no deposit, no fixed fees. A junior SOC analyst and a senior cloud security engineer do not require the same search. The commission reflects this difficulty, and the Muzzo team helps you set it.
You have a double guarantee. If the hire leaves within 3 months, for example because the actual perimeter does not match the brief, we relaunch the search for free. If no replacement is found within 4 months, we refund 50% of the fee. On average, 94% of Muzzo hires are still in role after 3 months.

the situation
a cybersecurity engineer is judged by the incident they prevent or contain
a good security engineer is deep in hardening, not on job boards
They monitor the SOC, fix vulnerabilities or run a penetration test. They are not looking for a role. A cybersecurity headhunter knows when and how to approach them.
certifications do not make incident reflex
The role requires detecting a weak signal, containing an attack and documenting what happened. The headhunter tests a real case, not just the tools listed on the CV.
a hiring mistake shows up at the first incident
Missed alert, slow response, poorly defended perimeter. The headhunter checks incidents handled and audits run before introducing you to someone.
the roles
the cybersecurity profiles our headhunters will find for you
From first role to senior profile, each search goes to a headhunter who has already recruited for this position.
SOC analyst
They monitor alerts, classify incidents and escalate as needed. Often a first role in cybersecurity, in shift patterns or on-call.
information security engineer
They harden systems, fix vulnerabilities and deploy protections. The most sought role in the field.
pentester, penetration tester
They attack systems to find flaws before someone else does, then document each flaw discovered.
incident response engineer
They intervene when the attack is already underway: isolate, contain and rebuild, then trace the incident timeline.
cloud security engineer
They secure cloud environments, configure access and firewalls and monitor configuration drift.
data protection officer
They ensure GDPR compliance of data processing and respond to requests from privacy authorities or individuals.
the method
a cybersecurity headhunter, not a generalist agency
A cybersecurity engineer is judged by the incident they prevent or contain. The method therefore starts from what the role must protect.
we define what the role must protect
SOC, network, cloud, application portfolio: the brief describes the perimeter to defend, any on-call requirements and expected autonomy level.

an incident case tested before interview
The headhunter asks the profile to describe an incident or penetration test they led: what they found, what they did, what changed. Then they cross-check with referees.

recruiting a cybersecurity engineer: what you need to know
why trust a headhunter with recruiting a cybersecurity engineer?
The cybersecurity engineer monitors, hardens and defends systems daily: SOC, vulnerabilities, penetration tests, incident response. Good profiles are in roles, busy monitoring or running a hardening project, and do not reply to ads.
A cybersecurity headhunter knows how to approach them and ask the right questions: which perimeter, which incidents handled, which tools, which on-call requirements. This page covers the operational role itself; for security governance at board level, see our CISO page, and for all infrastructure and security roles, our infrastructure, cloud and security page.

SOC analyst, security engineer or pentester: which profile to recruit?
A SOC analyst monitors alerts continuously and classifies incidents, often in shift patterns. An information security engineer hardens systems and fixes vulnerabilities as they arise. A pentester attacks systems on request to find flaws before a malicious third party.
This choice sets the role budget. According to Apec, the median for information security managers rises from 51 k€ before 35 to 71 k€ after 45: experience on real incidents weighs more than accumulated certifications.

how to evaluate a cybersecurity engineer at interview?
The CV lists certifications and tools. The interview must show something else: the ability to describe a real incident, how it was detected, contained and then documented to prevent recurrence.
A short practical case works well: a simplified intrusion scenario, twenty minutes to analyse and propose a response. The headhunter does this first screening before introducing you to someone, and checks with referees the incidents and audits the profile claims to have run.
IT outsourcing firm, specialised agency or internal IT department: what changes?
In an IT outsourcing firm or specialised agency, the cybersecurity engineer changes client and context regularly: they must adapt quickly to a system they do not know. In an internal IT department, they know the perimeter by heart and build a defence over time, often with less diversity of tasks.
The threat does not distinguish these contexts. According to Cybermalveillance.gouv.fr, account hijacking became in 2025 the top threat for companies and organisations, with 21% of assistance requests and a 52% rise year-on-year: pressure on security teams increases regardless of employer.
your questions on recruiting a cybersecurity engineer
According to Apec, information security managers under 35 earn 51 k€ gross per year at median, versus 71 k€ after 45 (2025 edition). Those working in IT activities are at 58 k€ median, and 80% earn between 41 and 83 k€.
The threat is clearly rising: according to Cybermalveillance.gouv.fr, account hijacking is in 2025 the top threat for companies and organisations, with 21% of assistance requests and a 52% rise year-on-year. This pressure pushes companies to strengthen their security teams, which tightens the recruitment market.
The cybersecurity engineer acts daily on systems: SOC, vulnerabilities, penetration tests, incident response. The CISO directs security policy, compliance and risk at board level, without necessarily handling the tools themselves. For this profile, see our CISO page.
They help filter a basic competency level, but do not replace real incident experience. Instead ask the candidate to describe a concrete case they handled: what they detected, how they reacted, what changed afterwards.
