one last question?
You set the fee for each role, between 5 and 30%. You only pay it once the technical sales rep is hired. No fixed fees, no deposit. If you don't hire, you pay nothing. The Muzzo team helps you choose the right amount.
You have a double guarantee. If your new hire leaves within 3 months, we restart the search at no cost. If we don't find a replacement within 4 months, we refund 50% of the fees. On average, 94% of new hires are still in post after 3 months.
Click “get started” and describe your role in two steps. The Muzzo team gets back to you to refine what you need. Then the headhunters who place the most technical sales reps get to work. Launching is free, with no exclusivity.

the reality
good technician or good salesperson: you need both
your clients are technical people
You sell to maintenance managers, design offices, industrial buyers. They ask precise questions. A rep who doesn't know the product inside out loses their trust at the first meeting.
dual skills are tested, not taken from a CV
On a CV, everyone is “technical” and “client-focused”. The headhunter checks both: what the person knows about the product, and what they have actually sold, to whom, over what cycle.
field or inside sales: not the same job
A field rep owns a territory, visits clients, plans their visits. An inside rep prepares quotes, advises and follows up from the office. We look for the profile that fits your organisation, not a generic salesperson.
the roles
the technical sales reps our headhunters go after for you
Each role goes to a headhunter who has already recruited technical sales reps for your type of product.
field technical sales rep
They develop and manage a client portfolio across a territory. They must be autonomous, organised, and live close to their area.
already hired via muzzo
inside technical sales rep
They handle requests, price quotes, advise by phone and follow up. Often your clients' first technical contact.

HVAC technical sales rep
Heating, ventilation, air conditioning: they sell equipment to installers and design offices who know the subject inside out.
already hired via muzzo
packaging technical sales rep
They advise manufacturers on their packaging: materials, formats, machines. A technical sale, at the heart of the client's production.
already hired via muzzo
electronics and electrical technical sales rep
Power electronics, components, electrical equipment: a niche product that calls for a real technical background.
already hired via muzzo
technical sales advisor and associate
A first role or a field role, often in building or equipment distribution. The right profile learns the product fast and knows how to listen.
already hired via muzzo
sales engineer and business development engineer
They sell complex projects, over long cycles, with several stakeholders on the client side. Often an engineer who moved into sales.

the method
a headhunter who knows your product and your market
We have tracked every headhunter since November 2020, on three criteria: how many hires they make, the quality of their profiles, their speed.
you describe the role
You fill in the form, then we talk it through: the product, the clients, the territory, the variable pay. You set the fee, between 5 and 30%.
we choose the headhunters
From more than 2,500 selected headhunters, we keep those who place the most technical sales reps for your type of product.
you meet vetted profiles
The headhunters check each profile's technical knowledge and sales results. You receive fewer CVs, but ones that match.
you only pay if you hire
Nothing to pay upfront. No fixed fees, no deposit.
hiring a technical sales rep: what you need to know
why hiring a technical sales rep is hard
A technical sales rep has to understand your product like a technician and sell it like a salesperson. That dual profile is rare. The good ones are employed, have customers who know them and few reasons to leave. So hiring one comes down to headhunting.
Shortages in technical trades add to the pressure. According to Dares, the French labour ministry's statistics office, hiring pressure in 2024 stayed close to its peak in mechanics, maintenance, electrical and electronics, the fields many technical sales reps come from.

field or inside technical sales rep?
A field rep visits customers across a territory, opens accounts and follows deals on site. An inside rep works from headquarters: quoting, advising by phone and preparing offers for the field team. The two complement each other, but call for different profiles and different pay.
For a field role, the headhunter looks for someone who lives in the heart of the territory. In France, the VRP status may apply: under article L7311-3 of the Labour Code, it covers a person who works exclusively and continuously as a sales representative, for one or more employers, makes no sales on their own account, and whose contract sets the products, territory or customer base, and pay rate.

a technician who sells, or a salesperson who learns the technology?
A technician moving into sales knows the product and quickly earns the trust of technical buyers. A salesperson learning the technology can prospect and negotiate, but takes time to answer tough questions alone. The right choice depends on how complex your product is and how much prospecting the role involves.
The headhunter helps you decide at the brief, then checks both sides: they get the person talking technology (standards, sizing, installation) and sales (accounts opened, revenue signed, cycle length).
the industries where our headhunters recruit technical sales reps
HVAC and building services, packaging, electronics and electrical, roofing materials, industrial equipment: our headhunters have already recruited technical sales reps in these fields. Each has its own products, standards and distribution networks.
Each role goes to the headhunter who knows your field best, out of more than 2,500 selected headhunters. They know where the good profiles work: at manufacturers, distributors or installers.
how much does it cost to hire a technical sales rep with Muzzo?

If the new hire leaves within 3 months, we restart the search at no cost. If no replacement is found within 4 months, we refund 50% of the fee. On average, a Muzzo hire is signed in 26 days, from brief to signature.
your questions about hiring a technical sales rep
On average, a Muzzo hire takes 26 days, across all roles, over the last 12 months. For a technical sales rep, the timing depends mostly on the product and the territory. The Muzzo team gives you an estimate from your first conversation.
It depends on your product and your clients. If your clients are engineers, technical knowledge comes first. If you sell a broad catalogue, sales skills matter more. We settle the question with you in the first conversation, then the headhunter looks for the right balance.
The headhunter asks for facts: portfolio managed, revenue, size of deals signed, cycle length. They cross-check with the career path. You meet people whose results hold up.
Yes. We choose the headhunters by product and by area. A field rep must live close to their territory: the headhunter checks this on the first call.
