one last question?

You set the fee for each role, between 5 and 30%. You only pay it once the person is hired. No fixed fees, no deposit. If you don't hire, you pay nothing. The Muzzo team helps you choose the right amount.

You have a double guarantee. If your new hire leaves within 3 months, we restart the search at no cost. If we don't find a replacement within 4 months, we refund 50% of the fees. On average, 94% of new hires are still in post after 3 months.

Click “get started” and describe your role in two steps. The Muzzo team gets back to you to refine the need. Then the headhunters who hire the most in that field get to work. Launching is free, with no exclusivity.

the reality

a good salesperson is never looking

01

the best salespeople have targets to hit

An account executive who beats their targets doesn't read job ads. They already have a good commission plan. A sales headhunter knows how to spot them, and how to talk to them about territory, product and pay.

02

a good interview doesn't prove they can sell

Presenting well is a salesperson's job. The headhunter checks what matters: targets met, the size of the contracts signed, the length of the sales cycles.

03

selling to an SME or to a key account is not the same job

Phone prospecting, field sales, long cycles facing a procurement team: each role calls for a precise profile. At Muzzo, each role goes to the headhunter who hires the most for that type of sale.

the roles

the sales profiles our headhunters go after for you

From prospecting to sales leadership, each role goes to a headhunter who knows that job.

  1. business developer

The business developer opens new accounts: prospecting, first meetings, first signatures. You need someone with stamina, at ease on the phone.

  2. account executive

The account executive runs the sale end to end, from demo to signature. In B2B software, it is the role that brings in the revenue.

  3. business development representative

The BDR makes the first contacts and fills the account executives' calendars. It is often the first sales role in a growing start-up.

  4. technical sales representative

The technical sales rep sells a technical product: equipment, hardware, industry-specific software. They must understand the client's need as well as an engineer would.

  5. sales engineer and business development engineer

The sales engineer sells complex projects to key accounts: long cycles, several decision-makers, proposals priced project by project.

  6. key account manager

The key account manager grows the accounts already signed. They keep the client and increase the revenue made with them.

  7. sales manager and regional manager

The sales manager leads a team across a territory. They hire, train and deliver their region's targets.

  8. head of sales and sales director

The head of sales builds the team, sets the compensation plan and is accountable to leadership for revenue. It is often the key hire after a funding round.

the method

one headhunter per type of sale, not one firm for everything

We have tracked every headhunter since November 2020, on three criteria: how many hires they make, the quality of their profiles, their speed.

01

you describe the role

You fill in the form, then we talk it through: the target clients, the territory, the base and the commission. You set the fee, between 5 and 30%.

02

we choose the headhunters

From more than 2,500 selected headhunters, we keep those who hire the most in your type of sale.

03

you meet salespeople with a track record

The headhunters approach every profile and check their past results. You receive few CVs, but profiles that match.

04

you only pay if you hire

Nothing to pay upfront. No fixed fees, no deposit.

hiring a salesperson: what you need to know

why use a sales recruitment agency?

A sales recruitment agency is first a way to reach the salespeople who are not looking. The ones who hit their targets are paid on commission, tied to their accounts, and do not read job ads. You have to call them, with a clear project and a clear pay plan.

The second benefit is screening. In a sales interview, everyone presents well. A sales headhunter knows which questions separate the people who closed the deal from the people who were in the room when it closed.

why use a sales recruitment agency?

sales recruitment: field, inside sales or VRP status?

Before the search starts, decide the format of the role. A field salesperson covers a territory and spends the week with customers. An inside salesperson sells by phone and video, often on shorter cycles. The two are not found in the same places.

For a travelling salesperson in France, consider the VRP status. Under article L7311-3 of the French Labour Code, it applies to someone who works as a sales representative exclusively and continuously, makes no sales on their own account, and whose contract sets the products sold, the territory or customer base, and the pay rate. The status changes the offer and the contract, so settle it before the first call.

what a sales headhunter checks before introducing a profile

Self-reported numbers are not enough. The headhunter asks for deal sizes, sales cycle length, and how much of the pipeline came from their own prospecting versus inherited accounts. An account executive who took over a book of business and a business developer who opened a territory do different jobs.

They also check what could block the hire: notice period, commission still owed, a non-compete clause. According to France's official labour code portal, such a clause is only valid if it protects a legitimate business interest, is limited in time and place, reflects the role and includes financial compensation. A salesperson bound by one may not be free to work your market.

the sales roles our headhunters fill most often

Business developers and SDRs to open new accounts, account executives to close in B2B software, technical sales reps to sell industrial products, key account managers for large customers, regional managers and sales directors to lead a team.

Each role goes to the headhunter with the strongest track record on that job, out of more than 2,500 selected headhunters. Building a whole team? Several headhunters work at the same time, one per profile, and you follow everything in one place.

how much does it cost to hire a salesperson with Muzzo?

Most agencies charge a percentage of the new hire's gross annual salary, sometimes with a deposit when the search starts. With Muzzo, you set the fee, between 5 and 30%, and you only pay it on hire. No deposit, no fixed fees, and getting started is free, with no exclusivity.

If the new hire leaves within 3 months, we restart the search at no cost. If no replacement is found within 4 months, we refund 50% of the fee. On average, a Muzzo hire is signed in 26 days, from brief to signature.

your questions about sales recruitment

On average, a Muzzo hire takes 26 days, across all roles, over the last 12 months. For a sales role, the timing depends mostly on the level, the sector and the notice period of the chosen profile. The Muzzo team gives you an estimate from your first conversation.

The headhunter asks every profile for facts: their targets, how far they hit them, the size of the contracts signed, the length of their sales cycles. You judge results, not just a good pitch.

Yes. It is common after a funding round or the opening of a new market. Each role goes to its own headhunter: one for the business developers, another for the head of sales. The searches move forward in parallel, and you follow everything in one place.

Yes. We choose the headhunters by role and by territory. A travelling technical sales rep in eastern France is not hired like an account executive in Paris.
