one last question?
You set the fee for each role, between 5 and 30%. You only pay it once the person is hired. No fixed fees, no deposit. If you don't hire, you pay nothing. The Muzzo team helps you choose the right amount.
You have a double guarantee. If your new hire leaves within 3 months, we restart the search at no cost. If we don't find a replacement within 4 months, we refund 50% of the fees. On average, 94% of new hires are still in post after 3 months.
Click “get started” and describe your role in two steps. The Muzzo team gets back to you to refine the need. Then the headhunters who hire the most in that field get to work. Launching is free, with no exclusivity.

the reality
in retail, the best managers are already on the shop floor
a good store manager is already running a store
They run their team, their stock and their sales. They have no time to read job ads. A headhunter knows them and calls at the right moment.
stores, wholesale, online: three jobs
Running a store, selling wholesale to businesses and managing an online shop call for people from different networks. At Muzzo, each role goes to the headhunter who knows that job.
peak seasons don't move
Sales, back to school, year-end: a vacant role before a sales peak is expensive. The hire has to be signed before, not during.
the roles
the retail profiles our headhunters find for you
Already 62 hires signed for 28 companies in retail, wholesale and online selling. Each role goes to a headhunter who knows that job.
store manager and branch manager
They lead the team and own the sales and the stock. In a chain, they are the ones who bring the brand's policy to life on the ground.
already hired in retail
sales manager and head of sales
They lead the sales team, follow key accounts and protect margins. In wholesale, they know their business customers one by one.
already hired in retail
field sales rep and technical sales rep
At the counter, in a dealership or on the road, they sell products they have to master. A technical salesperson is judged by how well they know the catalogue.
already hired in retail
buyer and category manager
They choose suppliers, negotiate prices and build the range for a product family. Their choices show up directly in the margin.
already hired in retail
import coordinator and sales administration
They follow orders, freight forwarders and customs. A precise job, where one mistake holds up a whole delivery.
already hired in retail
logistics and merchandise flow manager
They organise the warehouse, replenishment and deliveries to stores or customers. In retail, a sale only counts if the product arrives.
already hired in retail
e-commerce and digital marketing manager
They run the online shop, the campaigns and customer acquisition. Retailers that sell online and in store need them on both sides.
already hired in retail
finance director and financial controller
They track margins by store or by product family. In a growing chain, they are the ones who consolidate the numbers.

retail recruitment: what you need to know
retail and distribution recruitment: why a specialist agency
A retail recruitment agency exists to find the store managers, heads of sales and buyers who are already delivering results somewhere else. These people run a store or a client portfolio: they have neither the time nor the wish to read job ads.
The job has changed. A store manager must run the team and hit the numbers, but also understand online selling, click and collect and customer data. A recruiter who knows retail can check what the person has really done: store size, revenue, team, results.

hiring a store manager or a branch manager
The store manager leads the team, owns revenue, stock and margin, and applies the brand's policy on the shop floor. In a company-owned store or a franchise, the role is not run the same way: autonomy, targets and variable pay all change.
What to check: the store format (city centre, retail park, shopping centre), the revenue managed, the number of people supervised and the share of online sales. The headhunter Muzzo picks knows these formats and approaches people at the right moment, usually outside the busy seasons.

wholesale and distribution: heads of sales, technical sales, sales administration
Wholesale sells to professionals: installers, tradespeople, retailers, manufacturers. The head of sales leads a team of field salespeople and looks after key accounts. A technical salesperson must master the catalogue as well as the negotiation.
Behind the sale, sales administration and import coordinators handle orders, freight forwarders and customs. Muzzo has already hired for these roles for wholesalers and distributors: each role goes to the headhunter who knows that network.
buyers, category managers and e-commerce: the head office roles
At head office, the buyer and the category manager build the range for a product family, choose suppliers and negotiate prices. Their decisions show up straight in the margin. The e-commerce manager runs the online store, the campaigns and customer acquisition.
These people often move from a retailer to a supplier, or from the store to digital. Hiring them means knowing these paths: that is the job of a specialist headhunter, who knows where these people work today and what would make them move.
collective agreements and the retail calendar
French retail has no single collective agreement. Food retail and wholesale fall under the agreement for food retail and wholesale (IDCC 2216). Wholesalers selling to professionals apply the wholesale trade agreement (IDCC 573). Other agreements apply depending on the products sold.
The calendar matters as much as the agreement. The two sales periods, whose dates are set by order of the economy minister (article L. 310-3 of the French Commercial Code), back-to-school and the year-end season concentrate activity. A store manager hired during a peak arrives too late: it is better to launch the search two to three months ahead.
retail recruitment agency or a network of headhunters?
A specialist retail agency saves you time: it runs the search, the approaches and the first interviews. But it gives your role to its own consultants, whatever the job.
With Muzzo, your role goes to the headhunters who hire the most for that exact job, chosen from more than 2,500 selected headhunters. You only pay on hire. If your new hire leaves within 3 months, the search restarts at no cost; if no replacement is found within 4 months, 50% of the fees are refunded.
your questions about hiring in retail
Yes, as long as the search starts early enough. On average, a Muzzo hire takes 26 days, across all roles, over the last 12 months. Then you need to allow for the new hire's notice period. The Muzzo team helps you plan the timing from your first conversation.
Yes. We choose the headhunters by job and by region. Finding a city-centre store manager or an out-of-town branch manager doesn't call for the same network. The Muzzo team tells you what is realistic from your first conversation.
Yes. Our retail clients are store chains, distributors selling to businesses and online sellers. Sales managers, buyers, import coordinators, developers: each role goes to the headhunter who knows that job.
Yes. Muzzo has already hired heads of purchasing and category managers for distributors and wholesalers. The headhunter checks the product families managed, the suppliers negotiated with and the results achieved on margin. You meet few profiles, but ones already approached and checked.
A traditional agency hands your role to its own recruiters. Muzzo hands it to the headhunters with the best results in that field, chosen from more than 2,500 selected headhunters. A buyer and a store manager don't go to the same headhunter.
