one last question?

You set the fee for each role, between 5 and 30%. You only pay it once the person is hired. No fixed fees, no deposit. If you don't hire, you pay nothing. The Muzzo team helps you choose the right amount.

You get a double guarantee. If the new hire leaves within 3 months, we restart the search at no cost. If we can't find a replacement within 4 months, we refund 50% of the fee. On average, 94% of new hires are still in post after 3 months.

Click “get started” and describe your role in two steps. The Muzzo team gets back to you to clarify the need. Then the headhunters who hire most often for that job get to work. Launching is free and non-exclusive.

the reality

in insurance, technical experts don't change jobs by chance

01

a good underwriter isn't trained in six months

They know their risks, their cover and their pricing. These profiles are few and already in post: a headhunter knows where they are and what would make them move.

02

selling insurance is not like selling anything else

A business developer must understand policies, regulation and client needs. A good generalist salesperson is not enough.

03

underwriting, claims, sales, IT: four jobs

An insurer hires claims handlers as well as systems engineers. At Muzzo, each role goes to the headhunter who knows that job.

Already 58 hires signed for 4 companies in insurance and brokerage. Each role goes to a headhunter who knows that job.

  1. insurance business developer

  4. risk manager and litigation handler

the method

one headhunter per role, not one firm for everything

We have tracked every headhunter since November 2020, on three criteria: how many hires they make, the quality of their profiles, their speed.

01

you describe the role

You fill in the form, then we talk it through: the job, the level, the salary. You set the fee, between 5 and 30%.

02

we choose the headhunters

From more than 2,500 selected headhunters, we keep those who hire the most in your field.

03

you meet the right profiles

The headhunters approach and check every profile: lines of business mastered, portfolio, certifications. You receive few CVs, but profiles that match.

04

you only pay if you hire

Nothing to pay upfront. No fixed fees, no deposit.

hiring in insurance

what an insurance recruitment agency does

An insurance recruitment agency finds and vets the professionals an insurer, a mutual or a broker needs: underwriters, policy and claims handlers, actuaries, business developers, IT teams. At Muzzo, each role goes to the headhunter with the best track record on that job, chosen from more than 2,500 selected headhunters.

The sector never stops hiring. According to the French insurance jobs observatory (OEMA), it employed more than 161,000 people at the end of 2024 and made around 20,000 hires that year. Over ten years, it created nearly 15,000 net jobs. Many roles, technical skills, people already in post: ideal territory for direct approach.

what an insurance recruitment agency does

insurance recruitment: underwriting, claims, actuarial

The underwriter assesses risks and sets cover and pricing. The claims handler settles files and looks after the policyholder when they need it most. The actuary models risks, calculates reserves and underpins pricing. Three technical jobs that cannot be learned in a few months.

Each line of business has its specialists: property, liability, construction, protection, health, savings. A property underwriter cannot be swapped for a protection underwriter. The headhunter checks the line actually practised, the size of the risks handled and the level of authority.

Solvency II and IDD: what an insurance recruitment agency must check

Under Solvency II, an insurer must have four key functions: risk management, compliance, internal audit and the actuarial function. The appointment of their heads is notified to the ACPR, the French insurance supervisor, which reviews their fitness and propriety. The headhunter checks this track record before presenting anyone: a supervisor's objection costs months.

On the distribution side, the Insurance Distribution Directive requires at least fifteen hours of continuing training a year for anyone selling policies (article R512-13-1 of the French Insurance Code). A business developer or adviser must be able to show their professional qualification: the headhunter checks it from the first call.

insurer, mutual, broker: insurance recruitment by type of firm

The jobs look alike, but networks and employment terms differ. An insurance company applies the insurance companies' collective agreement, a mutual the mutual sector's agreement, a brokerage the insurance brokers' agreement. Variable pay, benefits, working hours: these gaps can sink an offer.

The headhunter prepares for these differences from the first approach. They also know that a broker's salesperson, used to placing risks with several insurers, does not have the same day-to-day as a salesperson employed by a carrier. We choose headhunters according to your type of firm, not just the job title.

data, AI and IT: insurance recruitment is changing

An insurer's systems often run on old, critical technology that has to be kept running while it is modernised. For insurers, we have hired systems administrators, network engineers and Cobol and Java developers. Since 17 January 2025, the EU's DORA regulation also requires insurers to manage their ICT risk.

Artificial intelligence is reshaping underwriting, claims and customer service. The French insurance jobs observatory has launched a 2030 job framework to measure its impact. Data scientists, statistical analysts and data project managers are becoming routine hires, at the crossroads of tech and insurance expertise.

how our headhunters run an insurance hire

Insurance experts are in post. Our headhunters approach them directly, check their line of business, portfolio and references, then present a short list of vetted profiles. For Aon France, we hired an affinity project manager.

A Muzzo hire is signed in 26 days on average, from brief to signature. You set the fee, between 5 and 30%, and only pay on hire. If the new hire leaves within 3 months, we restart the search at no cost. If no replacement is found within 4 months, we refund 50% of the fee.

your questions about hiring in insurance

Business developers, underwriters, policy and claims handlers, risk managers, actuaries, marketing project managers, and insurers' IT teams. Each role goes to a headhunter who knows that job.

On average, a Muzzo hire is signed in 26 days, across all roles, from brief to signature. You then need to allow for the new hire's notice period. The Muzzo team helps you plan the timeline from your first conversation.

Risk management, compliance, internal audit, actuarial: their heads are notified to the ACPR, which reviews their fitness and propriety. The headhunter checks the track record and references before presenting anyone. The search stays confidential, which matters while the current holder is still in post.

Through direct approach: experienced actuaries are few and already in post at an insurer, a reinsurer or a consultancy. The headhunter checks their specialism (pricing, reserving, Solvency II models) and the lines of business they know before presenting anyone.

Yes. Carriers, mutuals, brokers, tied agents: the jobs look alike, but networks and collective agreements differ. We choose headhunters according to your type of firm.
